Greetings to all,
We, of Thee Uncondemning Monk (aka, UM), are restarting a project that never took off. We are opening up Thee Purr Project or TPP. TPP works thus:
after receiving 10 recordings of your (or your friends, etc) felines purring, that is after receiving 10 tracks of different purrs, we will then post these track to SoundCloud. After they are posted to SoundCloud they will be open for peoples to create music utilizing them. How you use them is up to you. Here are the rules
Please send a link to your .wav or .flac file if possible, but we can handle most any music file type (we will let you know if we have a problem)
Tracks must be uploaded to the internet, preferably to soundcloud, once we have downloaded your track, we will notify you so you can take it down if you so choose, as we will be reposting them in the soundcloud purr project...
you can submit purrs as often as you like as long as they are not the same purs from the same cat, if "your" feline has different purrs, then we will except each track as a new and individual track...
.
the purr project will have a creative commons licensing with the restrictions that none of it is to be sold, that derivatives are allowed only if they credit the creators of the work... this will hold true for all work create in the project, BUT if you create a unique song from the purr, you have all rights beyond our use, we will only be compiling the work into a bandcamp album (with min. mastering, mostly normalization of volume), and it will be free to download w/ no email address required (at the very end of each session). A Session will be marked by whatever the time limit is on band camp for a single album, then we will more on to the next, all done in the order they are received/submitted...
the min for a purr track is 30 sec, the max 3 min.
the min for a sound werk/song created from one or more purr tracks is 1 min, with a max of 15 min.
What else? Please, be sure to include all relevant band information, email information, etc, with the song (in the file name if need be), so we can contact you if needed, at least to let you know about project update (only when there is something to report, such as the release of the purr project, or that the purrs are up on soundcloud for work)... if you need to email information to us (NO ATTACHMENTS!, links only please!) then...
email thee UM this way, subject line: Thee PURR Project TPP: (and then put here your band/artist name)
send your email to: nonphilosopher (AT) Gmail (dot) com OR
Personal Message us on Facebook: Uncondemning Monk, not our band page which is Thee Uncondemning Monk...
So, what do you think? Making music from the music maker themselves, those loving little purr machines... Good time ahead, that is what we think!
The Purr Project is currently open and will remain open for the year... if we decide to close the project we will let you know, but as of now we are accepting links to purr immediately!
